Listen to the Ferrari 296 Speciale: Start up & revving
Published on
Last month, Ferrari revealed the lighter, more powerful version of its entry-level mid-engined supercar. The 296 Speciale is powered by an upgraded 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6. It not only makes more power, but it even sounds a lot better than the standard 296 GTB.
@varryx_ got a chance to get up close with the 296 Speciale. He has shared a video of the Ferrari V6 firing up and revving. It has the typical sound of a turbocharged engine. It has a deep, bassy note but also pops and crackles.
The revised engine features titanium con rods, new pistons and a lighter crankshaft. The internal combustion engine churns out 690 hp, while the upgraded electric motor puts out 177 hp, taking the combined output from 818 hp to 867 hp.
