LaFerrari Aperta-based Ferrari Icona spotted on the streets

Earlier this week, a lucky few got to witness the latest Ferrari Icona supercar. Another private event has been scheduled for Saturday before the global unveiling on November 21, 2021. While we wait for possible leaks, here’s a production-ready test mule driving around Maranello.

The new Icona is based on the LaFerrari Aperta and is inspired by classic Ferrari race cars, including the 330 P4 and the 250 P5 concept. In this video, the car does look like a modified LaFerrari. However, it will have a unique and sporty exterior with retro undertones.

The new Icona will be powered by a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine from the 812 Competizione. The motor is said to have been tuned to produce around 850 hp.

The car is said to weigh around 1450 kg, which is lighter than the LaFerrari. That’s no surprise, as the latter has to lug around a bulky hybrid system.

The production of the new Icona is likely to be limited to 700 units. However, we will have to wait for Sunday for the final confirmation.
