The next Ferrari Icona supercar was revealed at a private event in Florence last night. Only the so-called ‘VIP clients’ were invited, and the whole event was kept a bit hush-hush. Well, at least that was the plan.
Some unconfirmed details about the Icona 2 have been shared already, and here’s what we’ve heard so far.
The new Icona model would be based on the LaFerrari Aperta. It would be powered by the 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine from the 812 Competizione. The motor is said to have been tuned to produce around 850 hp.
Since there isn’t a hybrid system with bulky batteries, the Icona will be lighter than the LaFerrari. Rumors suggest the car will weigh 1450 kg.
The styling of the Icona 2 is inspired by the 330 P4. However, some say that one can also find hints of the 250 P5. The car presented last night was finished in Pearl White.
The Icona 2 will be showcased to the general public on November 21 from Mugello. The car will be put on display at the Challenge Drivers’ gala dinner, a day prior to that.
Like the Ferrari Monza, the new model will also be a limited edition. Here’s how many cars they plan to build.
