Jacob & Co. Bugatti Tourbillon watch has an actual V16 engine inside it
One of the world’s finest luxury watchmakers, Jacob & Co. has partnered with Bugatti to create a limited edition timepiece inspired by the new Bugatti Tourbillon hypercar.
The partnership between the Jacob Arabo-led company and the Molsheim-based hypercar brand goes back to 2019, when it created a timepiece inspired by the Bugatti Chiron, with a working W16 engine inside it. Jacob & Co’s latest creation celebrates the launch of Bugatti’s next-generation hypercar, the Tourbillon.
The Bugatti Tourbillon watch measures 52×44 mm. It features three circular pods similar to the car’s instrument cluster. While one of them houses the actual tourbillon mechanism, the other two display the time and power reserve indicator.
The party piece though, is the V16 engine crafted from transparent sapphire, 16 pistons and a single-axis crankshaft.
The watch uses the caliber JCAM55 hand-wound movement that has 557 components. It comes with a 30-second flying tourbillon and a 48-hour twin power reserve indicator.
The Jacob & Co. Bugatti Tourbillon will be limited to 250 pieces. The first 150 pieces will be made in black DLC titanium with a price tag of $340,000.
