It has been six years since Koenigsegg unveiled the Gemera. The Swedish hypercar maker announced the start of production in April this year, and now, finally, the first customer car has rolled off the assembly line.

The first of 300 units planned is finished in a brilliant shade of red. The car was revealed by none other than Cristian von Koenigsegg on his Instagram. It will be revealed to the public at the Aurora Concours.

Unveiled in 2020, the Gemera is a four-seater hypercar. Koenigsegg calls it “Mega-GT”.  The production version is slightly different and features conventional wing mirrors instead of cameras, a rear wing, an aggressive front splitter, an S-duct, and other aero bits as part of the optional Ghost Package.

It was initially supposed to use a 2.0-liter, twin-turbo, 3-cylinder plug-in hybrid. Instead, the final version uses a 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 paired with three electric motors. It makes 2300 hp and 2028 lb-ft of torque and is paired with a 9-speed Light Speed Tourbillon Transmission, which sends power to all four wheels.

The first Koenigsegg Gemera is expected to be delivered to Switzerland.
