Ferrari has been working on a trick manual gearbox for its flagship V12 model, the 12Cilindri. We were really excited when we first heard the news, but unfortunately, it’s not exactly what we were hoping for.
The 12Cilindri is rumoured to get a simulated manual gearbox similar to Koenigsegg’s Engage Shift System (ESS). Given how much collectors love the shift-by-wire transmission in the CC850, Ferrari’s VIP clients would certainly be lining up for the upcoming 12Cilindri MM.
Even if you are among those elite few, there’s no guarantee that you will get to own the manual 12Cilindri. Apparently, those who want to be on the list are required to purchase a Ferrari Luce.
It’s a strategy that has worked for Ferrari in the past, and given the abysmal response the Luce has received, we won’t be surprised if they push customers to buy their $640,000 EV.
