The Dodge Charger may be getting its loudest version back. As per a report, Stellantis has contacted suppliers about bringing a Hemi-powered Charger into production, with the return of the supercharged Hellcat V8 reportedly planned for the end of 2027.
This won’t be the familiar 5.7-litre Hemi, though. Dodge is said to be preparing the 6.2-litre supercharged V8 for the new Charger, with plans to build around 12,000 Hellcat versions each year.

In related news, buyers appear to be voting for combustion power. Dodge Charger Sixpack sales climbed 22% in the third quarter of 2026, reaching 3,679 units. The Sixpack accounted for 3,446 of them, while just 233 electric Daytonas found buyers.

It certainly sends a message. The new Charger may have embraced electrification, but there’s still plenty of appetite for a proper V8 muscle car. If the report proves accurate, Dodge could be preparing to give enthusiasts exactly what they’re asking for.
