BYD’s luxury brand Yangwang has released the first official teasers of its upcoming Rolls-Royce-like flagship sedan.
The new luxury sedan certainly has presence. Its long body and imposing proportions immediately recall ultra-luxury models like the Rolls-Royce Phantom, while the front fascia appears to take inspiration from Yangwang’s U8 and U8L SUVs.
A closer look reveals intricate LED elements inside the headlights, along with an engraved Yangwang logo. The door handles are equally interesting. Their positioning confirms that the sedan will feature rear-hinged coach doors, a first for a BYD vehicle and another feature commonly associated with Rolls-Royce.
There’s plenty of technology, too. A LiDAR sensor remains mounted on the roof, suggesting an advanced suite of driver-assistance systems will be offered.
Technical specifications remain under wraps, but reports suggest this flagship could become the first BYD model to feature solid-state battery technology.
