Bugatti Bolide needs a tire change every 36 miles; A new set costs $8000!
There are very few people in this world who can afford a Bugatti. Among them are a select few who have the means and the patience to own a Bugatti Bolide. Let me explain.
Being a track car, you can’t just get into your Bolide and drive off. There’s a starting procedure just like any other race car. Then there’s the pre-flight checklist. Assuming that you are on a racetrack and you fire up the W16 engine, the fuel tank will be empty in 57 miles. The car does 3 miles per gallon, and it has a 19-gallon fuel tank. Also, it runs on 110-octane race fuel.
The Bolide is shipped with two sets of tires. The Michelin slicks need to be replaced every 36 miles, and a new set costs $8000. If the car is just sitting in the garage, you still have to replace the slicks after 5 years. Other items that need to be replaced at regular intervals include the seat belts, fire extinguisher and the fuel bladder.
As you would have realised, Bugatti Bolide ownership is not as straightforward as a regular supercar. The cost of ownership is a different ballgame altogether.

No point in even putting an engine in em. The recommended maintenance is a joke . Most if not all of these will be ending up in the white mausoleum of some rich collector dude . Actually driving one requires a Bugatti entourage of minions to follow the factory procedures . Nope the best that can be expected is a flat bed or box truck of shame to a local C&C or perhaps a beauty contest at a trendy , spendy shopping center .

You mean 36,000 miles, not just 36 miles?
That’s just around town and back!

Which is why these cars are just boring, dust collecting, toys for billionaire brag-boys. “Look at the size of my . . . wallet”

These are race cars running on slicks. So if your local track is 50 miles you can run around it once on a tank of gas, with a tire change halfway. Makes no sense in the real world. They should offer a display-only option; no engine.

There is no way it is 36 miles. That’s not even a full race. Heck that wouldn’t even last you half of a “track day”. What did they put on that car, a qualifying tire? I guess it doesn’t really matter because the people who buy this basically have unlimited money.

Can’t see someone with financial intelligence buying something like this… better just buy a REAL race car👍🏻

Three of the best comments, it sounds to me you’re buying this to cause more problems later on in life

No, they are correct, have you ever watched F1 racing how often do you see them change the tires on those cars? This isn’t a street car it’s a race car.

This is nonsense. There is no way it is 36 miles… Absolutely no way. That is 10 laps at COTA. Imagine you can only run half a session, then change tires, then half the next one. This is not possibly true.
F1 cars aren’t going much farther than that… But they’re still going for like 60 miles

This is not designed as a true “track” car. F1 does not drive on racing slicks. In my racing dragster for two years, with the acceleration, 36 mi per use is about right. But if you chose to drive a set around town, much, much longer. These tires cost about $880 each currently. For about $4,000 a set. This is a “rich boys dragster”, getting 3mpg mileage.

Just put a set of nascar Goodyear slicks on it and call it a day.. $1500 compared to $8k.. no difference at all.

Slicks will go to waste quickly no matter what car ur driving. You want tires to last longer put street tires on.
