Aston Martin V12 Speedster fails to sell at auction; highest bid was $646,000
A 2021 Aston Martin V12 Speedster recently came up for sale at RM Sotheby’s Munich auction. The open-top 2-seater was expected to fetch upwards of $1 million but failed to receive any bids even close to that. The highest bid was just $646,000, which is 60% less than its MSRP.
This V12 Speedster is one of just 88 units produced, and yet it struggled to find a buyer. This could be an indication of where the market is heading as far as limited-edition Aston Martins are concerned.
The car on offer was the 61st example with delivery miles (29 miles). It has an Aston Martin Racing Green exterior with Clubsport white roundels. The interior is trimmed in Conker saddle leather with Virdian Green textile and Caithness leather accents.
The V12 Speedster is powered by a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 engine that delivers 700 hp and 555 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, which drives the rear wheels via a limited-slip differential. It can sprint from 0 to 62 mph in 3.5 seconds and has a top speed of 186 mph.
