BMW to reduce headcount, cut 8000 jobs

1 Min Read

As per reports, BMW has confirmed plans to reduce its workforce by around 8,000 roles by the end of 2027, as part of a broader effort to stay competitive in a rapidly changing industry.

According to reports, the move will be carried out through a voluntary severance program agreed upon with employee representatives. That means no forced layoffs—for now—but it still signals a significant restructuring.

New CEO Milan Nedeljkovic is expected to work closely with the company’s works council to manage the transition carefully.

BMW has not disclosed specific regions or departments that will be affected by the reduction. However, the move reflects an internal restructuring effort as the company adjusts its operations over the coming years.
