This is a sight to cherish. I mean, come on. How often do you see a one-off supercar like the Mercedes C1000? Lucky are those who got to witness this engineering marvel in person.
Yes, the extraordinary Mercedes C1000 has been spotted at Lake Como soaking in the sun. No details as to what this ultra-rare machine was doing out there. But considering that the Concours d’Elegance takes place on the western shore of Lake Como, it’s understandable.
The C1000 was jointly designed, developed and built by German automotive manufacturers LOTEC in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz in 1995. The one-off supercar features a unique and unusual design, especially from the front, thanks to the quad headlight setup. The side profile flaunts a sharp crease that starts from the bottom of the front door and merges into the massive rear wing.
The 1000 in its name denotes the power figure that its 5.6L twin-turbo V8 engine makes – 1000 PS or 986 hp. The Mercedes C1000 can do the 0-62 mph sprint in 3.2 seconds and has a theoretical top speed of 268 mph.
