The Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X continues to impress and give its rivals nightmares. The high-performance car now holds not one, but two new lap records.

The first one is at the Sonoma Raceway, where the Corvette ZR1X, driven by Corvette Chassis Controls Engineer Cody Bulkley, recorded a lap time of 1 minute and 34.17 seconds. It achieved a top speed of 148 mph into turn 1.

Next up is the lap record at National Corvette Museum Motorsport Park. In the hot seat of the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X was Drew Cattell, who also drove the ZR1X around the Nürburgring. He went around the track in 2 minutes and 2.22 seconds – faster than a McLaren Senna with a lap time of 2 minutes and 2.86 seconds.

The Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X uses a 5.5L twin-turbo V8 engine, which is aided by an electric motor located at the front axle. Together, they make 1,250 hp. No wonder that it can accelerate to 60 mph in just 1.69 seconds and fly past over 230 mph flat out.
