A prototype of the 2027 BMW M5 Touring facelift has been spotted doing the rounds at Nurburgring. The test mule caught on camera is wearing heavy camouflage, but we can somewhat guess as to what’s coming.

Expect the M5 Touring facelift to feature BMW’s Neue Klasse design language. And we can see that on this heavily disguised prototype. Its front end feels sharper with new LED headlamps and a slimmer and wider kidney grille. At the rear, a set of slim wraparound LED taillights, along with the signature quad exhausts, will enhance the vehicle’s looks.

As for the engine, the 2027 BMW M5 Touring facelift would continue to use the same 4.4L twin-turbo V8 powerhouse as the current model. This engine is capable of producing 717 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque, and is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Apart from making the updated M5 Touring do the rounds of the Green Hell, BMW is also testing the 2027 G90 M5. Various prototypes of the performance sedan have been spotted multiple times at Nurburgring. It is also expected to follow the German auto giant’s new Neue Klasse design language.
