2017 Ford GT Race Car Track Testing: Video

Ford GT Le Mans Race Car

Ford will be back to Le Mans 24h endurance race next year. The car that they are fielding against arch rival Ferrari has already been in the news. The 2017 Ford GT race car will try to repeat the success of the original GT that won Le Mans on the trot, back in the 1960s.

We can confirm that the 2017 Ford GT race car seems to be shaping up pretty from this  recently released spy video from Canada. The GT racer has been testing at Calabogie MotorSports Park outside of Ottawa where it was spotted by avid auto enthusiasts.

Sharing the same platform with the road car, the Ford GT race car is powered by an EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 engine that is restricted to less than 600 hp as per FIA WEC regulations. So, the road car that you and I will be able to drive will have more power than the racer. That said, the GT race car is pleasingly loud. Note the anti lag system working overtime off-throttle and the quick gearshifts that sound like “gunshots”.
