VIDEO: Porsche 911 GT3 RS hits 300 km/h on the Autobahn

Porsche 911 GT3 RS clocks 300 km/h on an unrestricted stretch of Autobahn with unsurprising ease.

Germany’s controlled-access highway system called the Autobahn is one of the few public road networks in the world where you can drive at 155 mph+ speeds. There are even unrestricted sections where you can push your supercar to its limits. We have seen numerous videos of enthusiasts attempting to get the most out of their cars on the Autobahn. The latest one comes from one of our favorite Youtube channels, Carfection, who drove the new 991 MkII 911 GT3 RS all the way up to 300 km/h or 186 mph.

The GT3 RS throttled from 130 km/h (80 mph) to 300 km/h (186 mph) in no time utilizing most of the 512 ponies out of its 4.0 liter flat-six. However, unlike other Autobahn top speed runs, this one was filmed in the night. Considering the only source of illumination are your headlights since there is an apparent lack of highway lamps, this attempt was much more dangerous and obviously more thrilling for the drivers.

The 911 GT3 RS also recently lapped the Nurburgring in 6 mins 56 sec joining the exclusive sub-7 minute club.
