Roll Racing: Lamborghini Aventador vs Hennessey Corvette C7 HPE750

Can a Hennessey-tuned Corvette C7 Stingray keep up with a Lamborghini Aventador? The makers of the former find out on their proving grounds.

Hennessey’s HPE750 Corvette C7 Stingray upgrade kicks up the power of the American sports car to a whopping 750 hp. That sounds awesome on paper when compared with a Lamborghini Aventador which unleashes 690 horses in its pure form. But can the tuned Corvette beat the Italian bull?

Hennessey has put the Chevy through the usual round of modifications, which focuses on an extensive engine overhaul aided by a high-flow supercharger system. The end result boosts power from 460 hp to 750 horsepower along with new torque figure of 734 lb-ft. The Hennessey page claims 0-60 mph in 3 seconds, a quarter mile in 10.7 seconds and a top speed of 202 mph.

When pitted against the permanent four-wheel drive Lambo in a roll race, the HPE750 package does what it was designed to do. As a result, the Corvette doesn’t just manage to keep up with the Aventador, it beats the Lambo by a good margin and that too multiple times.

We can’t help but wonder, how much more amazing a display of power the Hennessey HPE750 Supercharged Corvette would have put up, had it been the coupe instead of the convertible.
