Rare Ferrari 812 Competizione Aperta burns to a crisp in USA

One of the rare Ferrari 812 Competizione Apertas in the United States has been destroyed by a fire. The supercar is in an absolutely terrible state and would probably be written off.

Images shared on social media suggest that the fire may have started in the engine bay and engulfed the front passenger side area. The blaze also spread to the cabin, destroying the dashboard and the centre console area. That being said, the exact cause of the fire is still unclear.

Ferrari built only 599 units of the 812 Competizione A for the entire world. It’s safe to say that only 598 of those remain road-worthy. The owner must be quite livid after the incident, as these cars are currently sold in the seven-figure price range.

The 812 Competizione A is the most track-focused version of the 812 Superfast. It is powered by a 6.5-liter, naturally aspirated V12 engine that produces 830 hp and 510 lb-ft, with a redline at 9500 rpm.
