Nico Rosberg hot laps a $1.8 Million Ferrari Monza SP1 at Fiorano

Formula 1 world champion Nico Rosberg found himself on the other side of the fence when he visited the Ferrari headquarter at Maranello.

However, the ex-Mercedes driver was not there to spy on Ferrari’s F1 program. He did what every other Ferrari fan would do. He visited the Ferrari museum and later headed to factory for a date with a Monza SP1.

According to Nico, he could be one of the first outsiders to drive a Monza SP1. Well, he certainly seems to be the first outsider to drive one at Fiorano, because we’ve seen GFWilliams drive a Monza SP2 on public roads before.

The Monza SP1 is the single-seater speedster that debuted last year. The car is based on the 812 Superfast and features a 6.5-liter, naturally aspirated V12 engine that produces 800 hp @ 8500 rpm and 530 lb-ft of torque @ 7000 rpm. 0-62 mph comes up in 2.9 seconds and 124 mph comes up in 7.9 seconds.
