Mercedes-AMG GT63 Performance Non-hybrid spied
Mercedes-AMG seems to be working on a high-performance version of the AMG GT63. According to Mercedes-Fans, this could be a more powerful version without the hybrid system.
Spy images reveal a conventional AMG GT with a sportier body. It has a tweaked front bumper with extra vents, a smaller grille with a fixed spoiler and quad exhausts at the back.
The flagship model in the range is the Mercedes-AMG GT63 SE Performance. This car packs a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 paired with an electric motor, producing over 800 hp.
Dropping the hybrid system for a pure-ICE setup does make sense, as the electric motor and battery add a lot of weight. The test car seen here doesn’t have a charging port at the back, which points to the fact that it does not have the plug-in hybrid setup.
On the other end of the performance spectrum is the recently launched Mercedes-AMG GT43. This entry-level model uses a 2.0-liter, turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that makes 416 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque.
