McLaren Senna clocks 187 MPH over a Standing Mile
Johnny Bohmer Proving Grounds in Florida has one of the widest and longest runways in the world. It’s an ideal place to test the top speed of cars like the McLaren Senna.
A bone-stock McLaren Senna was tested over a 1 mile stretch with a professional driver at the wheel. The supercar clocked a top speed of 187.28 mph at the 1 mile marker.
Earlier this month, Motor Trend took the Senna on a hot lap of Laguna Seca. Unsurprisingly, it beat the previous lap record set by a Porsche 911 GT2 RS. The Senna lapped the circuit in 1 min 27.62 seconds.
The McLaren Senna also holds the unofficial lap record of the Hockenheim circuit in Germany. It lapped in 1 min 40.79 seconds, beating the Ferrari 488 Pista’s time of 1 min 45.90 seconds by 5 seconds.
The Ultimate Series hypercar is powered by a 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 engine that churns out 789 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. It will accelerate from 0-62 mph in 2.8 seconds. 0-124 mph comes up in 6.8 seconds. McLaren claims that it will hit a top speed of 208 mph.
