The McLaren Artura will be phased out in 2028 after almost a six-year production run. The entry-level hybrid supercar will make way for the P34.

In 2020, McLaren announced the Artura as a replacement for the 570S and a rival to the Ferrari F8 Tributo and Lamborghini Huracan. But deliveries were delayed as the world was still grappling with the Covid-19 pandemic and the subsequent semiconductor shortage.

By the time the Artura was on the road, Ferrari had debuted the 296 GTB, with a massive jump in performance over the F8. While the 296 brought 820 hp to the table, Lamborghini followed up with the 907 hp Temerario. As you can see, the 670 hp Artura was no match for the latest Italian hybrids.

According to reports, buyers were put off by the delayed launch and technical issues. They viewed it as a redesigned 570S with a V6 hybrid powertrain, offering “OK” performance.

However, the muted market response didn’t stop McLaren from introducing the Artura Spider in 2024. It came with an updated 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 hybrid producing 690 hp and 531 lb-ft of torque and a revised 8-speed transmission.
