McLaren 750S driven at 204 mph on a public highway

The McLaren 750S was unveiled in April this year. Now, the 720S replacement has made its way into the US market. To announce its debut McLaren took the 750S to the Sawtooth National Recreation Area in Idaho.

The 750S was presented at the 2023 Sun Valley Tour de Force. This event is known for its speed runs over a 3.2-mile stretch of tarmac. In the past, this place has seen a Bugatti Chiron reach 253 mph.

With ex-Formula 1 driver Stefan Johansson at the wheel, the 750S clocked 204 mph on the public highway, which is pretty close to its claimed top speed of 206 mph.

Powering the new McLaren 750S is a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine. This motor is good for 730 HP and 590 ft-lbs. of peak torque. Like its predecessor, this supercar too uses a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox that sends power to the rear axle.
