McLaren 600LT almost gets Totaled at Thunderhill Raceway

This guy had his heart in his mouth when McLaren 600LT skidded across the racetrack.

The driver was out for a track day at the Thunderhill Raceway in California. He starts to attack the corners only after getting his eye in and his breaking points sorted

Now, into his third lap, the driver encounters traffic. With the tires warmed up and confidence at its highest, the driver gets a good exit out of turn 2. The 600LT then approaches turn 3, which is a blind right hand curve. He notices a puff of smoke up ahead, as the engine in one of the cars blows up, spilling oil onto the tarmac. However, before he could react, the 600LT starts skidding off the racetrack. Luckily, the car misses one of the stranded cars by a few inches.

The McLaren 600LT is the hotter, track-focused version of the 570S. It uses a revised twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 that produces 592 hp and 457 lb-ft of torque.
