Lamborghini to announce a one-off hypercar soon

The Centenario was launched just last year and Lamborghini is already prepping another limited edition model. Speaking to CarAdvice Lamborghini R&D boss Maurizio Reggiani said, “Soon we will present to our most important customers a new version of what we call a one-off. For us a one-off is a small number of cars where we make scouting of a new design trend, like we did with the Centenario and not only that, we introduce some new technology.”

Reggiani added “It was the case with the Centenario where we revealed rear-wheel steering that came into production” (with the Aventador S). While we don’t know what new technology Lamborghini will showcase on the new hypercar, it will likely make its way on to the Aventador’s replacement. Since, the Aventador replacement is planned to be a hybrid, Lamborghini might want to showcase the technology on this limited edition model. Not just the technology, but Lamborghini could also use the hypercar to showcase the design for the Aventador replacement.

We won’t have to wait long to know more about the car though. CarAdvice suggests that the reveal might be imminent, probably before the year is out. Considering that the Urus will be launched in December, the car might be showcased to customers at the event with a public reveal at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show.

Reggiani feels confident that the car will be sold out before it is revealed to the public. “We will announce it with our loyal customers that wait for this, we don’t need to do more, we arrive at the motor show and the production is already sold out.”
