Lamborghini Huracan successor’s V8 hybrid could pack over 900 HP

Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann has dropped a hint about the new V8 plug-in hybrid powertrain’s overall output. This is the engine that will power the Huracan successor.

According to Winkelmann, the combined output of the twin-turbo V8 hybrid will be over 900 CV, which is around 888 hp. For sure, it will be lower than the V12 Revuelto, but by how much?

“The twin-turbo V8 engine, combined with a hybrid system incorporating three electric motors, optimized with a max output of over 900 CV,” Winkelmann said in a recent LinkedIn post.

The Huracan successor, rumoured to be called Temerario, will use a 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 engine paired with an axial-flux electric motor integrated into its 8-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The ICE is said to produce 789 hp and 538 lb-ft of torque and revs to 10,000 rpm, while the electric motors provide a boost of 148 hp and 221 lb-ft.

The Lamborghini Huracan replacement is expected to make its global debut in August 2024.
