Two 20-year-olds have lost their lives in a horrific road accident involving a Porsche Cayman in Brazil. A video captured by a roadside CCTV camera captured the high-speed crash that took place on the Francisco von Zuben highway in Sao Paulo.
The footage shows the Cayman, travelling at high speed, losing control and veering off into the median. The sports car ploughs straight into a tree before bursting into flames. Surviving such an impact would be unlikely even in the best possible scenario. The fire made it worse.
The victims were identified as Arthur Rodrigues de Souza and Lívia Bevilacqua Batista, both 20-year-old students.
According to the police, the car was already fully engulfed in flames when emergency teams arrived at the scene. Two bodies were recovered from the vehicle. The investigation is underway to ascertain the cause of the accident.
