A classic 1971 Ford Falcon GT was completely ripped in half following a horrific collision in Sydney’s southwest. Miraculously, the driver escaped with only minor injuries.
The incident took place on Henry Lawson Drive near the Salt Pan Creek Bridge, and early reports suggest the car collided with another vehicle before crossing the median and entering oncoming traffic.

The impact was so severe that the Falcon split into two separate sections. The rear half was torn away entirely, and the front was left mangled but somewhat intact. Even more astonishing, the driver’s seatback had sheared off, highlighting just how violent the crash truly was.
Emergency responders arriving at the scene reportedly feared the worst. Instead, they found survivors with only scrapes and bruises. A miracle, by any standard.

The Ford Falcon GT is one of Australia’s most iconic muscle cars, with values ranging from six figures to well beyond that for rarer variants. Seeing one destroyed like this is nothing short of heartbreaking. But hey, let’s not forget – metal can be replaced, lives cannot. And in this case, against all odds, the driver lived to tell the tale.
