Exclusive: Gordon Murray’s T50S Track Speed Supercar will be track-only

Gordon Murray is building a track-only version of the T50 supercar called the T50S Track Speed.

Earlier this year, the famous engineer who gave us the McLaren F1 revealed his plans of a new analogue supercar. Dubbed the T50, the new model is being built by Gordon Murray Automotive in limited numbers. Now, sources have confirmed to us that there’s also a track version.

We have been told that the track version of the T50 will be called T50S Track Speed. Obviously, this car will be honed for track use and will not be street legal. Moreover, it is said that the aerodynamics will be optimized for the racetrack. Only 25 of these will be built.

The road car will be powered by a 3.9-liter, naturally aspirated V12 engine that produces 641 hp and 341 lb-ft of torque. The engine will be paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. However, the track car will have more than 700 hp and will miss out on a manual gearbox. While the road car is expected to weigh 980 kg, the T50S Track Speed will weigh less than 900 kg.

Murray’s T50 road car is likely to set you back around £2.36 million before taxes and options. According to our sources, at the moment, the track version is being offered at £2.50 million (excluding taxes).
