The images of the upcoming Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray have leaked online, giving us our first look at the hybrid Corvette.
The images, which appear to be from the Corvette E-Ray configurator, first surfaced on Corvette Blogger. In fact, GM took notice of it and responded to the post saying, “Looks like the holidays came early for a few astute Corvette fans.”
The Corvette E-Ray looks similar to the Z06, with body panels painted to match the exterior color. Speaking of the color palette, Chevy offers 12 exterior shades and 10 interior upholstery options. Customers will also be able to choose from four different alloy wheels and three carbon fibre wheel options.
Rumors suggest that the Corvette E-Ray is likely to be powered by a self-charging hybrid powertrain. It could also get regenerative braking, allowing the battery to recharge using the energy recovered from braking. The recent images have also revealed an “Auto Start/Stop” button.
More details about the Corvette E-Ray are awaited. The new hybrid supercar will arrive in the summer of 2023.
