Chevrolet C8 Corvette Z06 laps the Circuit of the Americas in 2 min 19.18 sec

The Chevrolet C8 Corvette Z06 has set a blistering lap time around the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, TX. The car clocked an incredible 2 min 19.18-second lap with Hennessey Venom F5 test driver David Donohue at the wheel.
The C8 Corvette Z06 used for the run was John Hennessey’s own car. It’s completely stock and features the Z07 package, which adds a carbon aero package and lightweight carbon fibre wheels, among other track-focused upgrades.
The Z06 is powered by a mid-mounted 5.5-liter V8, which now features a flat-plane crank and pumps out 670 hp @ 8400 rpm and 460 lb-ft of torque @ 6300 rpm. Power is delivered to the rear axle via an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and electronic limited-slip differential.
