Carcela is Europe’s growing peer-to-peer serviced marketplace for used cars. The service was initially launched in Glasgow, Munich and Geneva and soon expanded into London, Manchester and Brighton. The company is now planning to move into overseas markets and India is one of them.
As part of the expansion campaign, Carcela is now targeting the biggest automotive markets in Asia. Shanghai is the first Asian city where Carcela was launched recently. The service will soon be available in India. They are looking to set shop in Mumbai and New Delhi in the coming months.
What is Carcela?
Carcela offers an online platform for customers to buy and sell their vehicles from the comfort of their homes. The platform promises a completely hassle free experience akin to a personal concierge service for buying and selling your car.
“We are looking to be-rid the concept of dealerships for used vehicles for customers, and allow customers to not have to go through all the typical hassle associated with buying and selling their cars,” said Dagmawi Belay- CEO and Co-Founder of Carcela.
Carcela also takes care of pre-purchase inspections and test drives for its customers. More importantly, all the necessary paper work is handled by the company to make the purchase less complicated for the clients.
Moreover, Carcela will also offer financing options on used cars. They are currently in talks with one of UK’s leading car finance company, Zuto to further improve the customer experience. A similar tie up with an Indian firm is expected when they launch later this year.
Carcela launched in November 2016 and has already achieved a revenue milestone. The company hit £1 million in under 5 months. They plan to continue their growth story by revolutionizing the way we buy and sell used cars here in India.
