Can a Genesis G70 reverse-drift underneath a Semi-Truck Trailer? Yes, it can!

The Genesis G70 sedan reverse-drifts underneath a semi-truck trailer in the latest promo video. Damn, that would’ve made the entire cast of The Fast and the Furious jealous.

Genesis has become a new premium brand for Hyundai to take on the best that Europe can throw at it and the G70 is one of the sharpest arrows in its arsenal. The sports sedan is quite potent as well with two engines in the range good enough to give those Germans numerous worry lines. Recently the YouTube channel of Genesis USA posted what appears to be the first in a series of video ads featuring the sedan demonstrating its many skills.

The video is titled “The Art of the Stunt, Starring the Genesis G70: Episode 1” and that name gives us more hope that this is just the beginning of an exciting series of promos from Genesis.

Taking inspiration from the first Fast and Furious movie the Genesis G70 reverse-drifts underneath a semi-truck trailer. Well-shot and well-produced, the video is short and comes with a clear warning that the whole thing was filmed with a professional stunt driver (Tanner Foust) at the wheel of a modified production car in a closed environment.

And yes, do not try to replicate this in case you have a car and semi-truck trailer lying around in the parking lot. First of all, normal trailers don’t come with the kind of ground clearance to let your car pass underneath it. Secondly, the chance of car crashing into a multitude of stuff is relatively high, based on how good you are in the art of stunt driving.

With prices starting at $34,900, the Genesis G70 comes with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine (252 hp and 260 lb-ft) and a twin-turbo 3.3-liter V6 (365 hp and 376 lb-ft).
