The Chevrolet Camaro may have left production nearly three years ago, but the California Highway Patrol has just revealed what it says is its final Camaro that will be added to its fleet.
Revealed on Instagram, the black-and-white patrol car appears to be based on the Chevrolet Camaro SS 1LE, giving it considerably more performance hardware than your average police cruiser.
The familiar CHP livery is joined by red and blue emergency lights integrated into the grille and side skirts, along with a roof-mounted light bar. A large whip antenna completes the unmistakable police-car look.
Under the hood, the Camaro has Chevrolet’s naturally aspirated 6.2-litre LT1 V8, producing 455 hp and 455 lb-ft of torque. Red brake calipers also hint at the car’s performance-focused setup.
