The new Bentley Torcal EV features plenty of modern technology, but there’s one increasingly common luxury-car feature it deliberately doesn’t have – a front passenger screen.
Bentley Product Line Director Martin Page explained that the company considered adding one during the Torcal’s development, but ultimately decided it didn’t fit the brand’s human-focused approach.

“Technology has to add value. It should not dominate the experience,” Page said. In fact, Bentley says it would “never” add a passenger display to its cars in their current form.
According to Page, such a screen felt like a solution in search of a problem. That could change when fully autonomous cars arrive, when passengers may have more reason to interact with individual displays.

The Bentley Torcal EV shares a curved OLED central display with its platform sibling, the Porsche Cayenne Electric, but uses Bentley-specific software. The difference is on the passenger side. While the Cayenne Electric offers a 14.9-inch display, Bentley instead fills that space with wood, aluminium or carbon fibre.
