Bad Boys for Life Trailer is Loaded with Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Goodness!

Mike Lowrey has chosen a Porsche 911 Carrera 4S as his ride in Bad Boys for Life. The bad boys are back, people! And the trailer kicks ass big time.

The trailer for the third movie in the Bad Boys franchise has been released. Bad Boys for Life directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah will hit theaters on January 17, 2020 and the action-comedy marks the return of both Will Smith’s Mike Lowrey and Martin Lawrence’s Marcus Burnett to take on Miami’s criminals. Also joining them is the 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S.

Yep, Mike has ditched his Ferrari for the Porsche this time and fans of the original will love to see the German sports car replacing the Italian. The 1995 original had a Porsche 911 Turbo which actually belonged to director Michael Bay. Apparently, the studio wasn’t ready to spend money on a Porsche movie car and Porsche wasn’t keen to give away one for filming. Bay wasn’t as huge a name as he is now and neither was product placement as popular as it is in this decade.

Speaking of the Italian choice that Mike made for Bad Boys 2, an identical pair of Ferrari 550 and 575 Maranello was used in Bad Boys 2. The second installment was a much bigger, action-packed, car chase-loaded 2003 summer tent pole. In fact, the freeway chase is one of the most imitated set pieces with dozens of foreign movies shamelessly copying it even to this day.

So what’s our take on Bad Boys for Life, based on the trailer? Here’s a quick look at the plot.

“Marcus Burnett is now a police inspector and Mike Lowery is in a midlife crisis. They unite again when an Albanian mercenary, whose brother they killed, promises them an important bonus.”

And as the trailer suggests, Miami’s finest will take on the bad guys with their wit, charm, banter, trash talk, guns and fast cars – just like old times. They’ve even thrown in a motorbike with a machine gun-mounted sidecar, in case you aren’t impressed with all the cars blowing up.

With a release date set in January next year, this is just the beginning of the marketing campaign. More trailers and clips will be released over the next few months.
