Audi recently unveiled its new sports car concept called the Concept C. It is believed to be the precursor to the next-generation Audi TT and shares some bits with Porsche’s upcoming electric sports car.
The Audi Concept C is a futuristic-looking 2-door with a folding targa-style roof. However, the first thing that struck us was its face. Why does it have to look like that infamous German guy?
The car has an upright front fascia with sleek LED headlights and a rectangular grille in the centre that looks as if the car has grown a toothbrush moustache. Audi says the all-new “Audi brand face” is actually inspired by the Auto Union Type C race car.
That aside, the minimalistic design approach isn’t new. We’ve seen it being adopted by other brands like Jaguar with their Type 00 concept.
In terms of its proportions, the Concep C is 178 inches long and has a wheelbase of 101.1 inches. It rides on 21-inch wheels.
Rumours suggest that the production version will be based on Porsche’s PPE platform (Premium Platform Electric). It will use an 800-volt electrical architecture and will support ultra-fast charging. It is expected to debut in 2027.
