Joe Macari-Aston Martin Valkyrie-1

Famous Aston Martin Valkyrie owner uses $3 million hypercar for grocery shopping

2 Min Read

Joe Macari – well-known collector and owner of Joe Macari Performance Cars in London – was recently spotted using his Aston Martin Valkyrie for a quick supermarket stop. The haul? Just a few avocados. The machine? A $3 million, Formula 1-inspired hypercar that barely tolerates road use.

Watching someone get in and out of a Valkyrie is a spectacle in itself. The tight teardrop cockpit, high sills, and fixed seating position make even the simplest entry feel like a pre-race routine. Practicality is almost nonexistent. There’s no real boot to speak of, and storage space is close to zero. Yet somehow, we’re sure that the avocados must have made the journey.

Developed with Red Bull Advanced Technologies, the Aston Martin Valkyrie is as close as it gets to a Formula 1 machine for the road. Its naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12, built by Cosworth, screams to 11,000 rpm and produces over 1,000 horsepower on its own, paired with a hybrid system that pushes total output to around 1,160 hp.

It’s this contrast that makes the moment so brilliant. A multi-million-dollar, track-focused hypercar being used for something as mundane as grocery shopping. Completely impractical, entirely unnecessary, and somehow, perfectly cool.
