Porsche could be preparing an even more expensive 911 as it looks for ways to strengthen profits following a difficult period. As per reports, a new range-topping variant could reportedly cost around $400,000.
Porsche product and individualisation vice president Alexander Fabig says there is still plenty of room to push pricing on high-end 911 models. He pointed to the 911 S/C, a GT3-based convertible, which costs around 95 percent more than the entry-level 911.

However, Fabig suggested future products could go much further, saying they could command a price premium of more than 200 percent over the base model. That would put a potential 911 well into six-figure territory.
The strategy comes as Porsche deals with weaker profits, partly due to US tariffs, tougher competition in China and the cost of developing both electric and combustion-powered cars.

A more profitable 911 range could help offset some of those pressures. Porsche is also counting on the production version of the recently revealed Mission S concept to strengthen its high-margin business.
For now, there is no confirmation of a $400,000 911.
