The next-gen BYD Han has been spotted testing in China, giving us an early look at what could become the most affordable member of the expanding Han sedan family.
Expected to start at around 200,000 yuan ($29,900), the new Han will reportedly sit below the Han L, which itself is positioned beneath the flagship Da Han. Both EV and plug-in hybrid powertrains are expected.
Despite the camouflage, familiar BYD design cues are visible. The sedan features the brand’s Dragon Face styling up front and a full-width taillight bar at the rear. Inside, things remain minimalist, with a white cabin, a large central infotainment display and a row of physical controls on the centre console.
Technology should be a major selling point. The new Han is expected to feature BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery and Flash Charging technology, while a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor points towards advanced driver-assistance features.
Reports also suggest DiSus-C adaptive damping and the more sophisticated DiSus-A air suspension could be available.
