Bugatti is all set to pull the covers off its new one-off Solitaire model in a few hours from now. We’ve just learnt that the new coachbuilt hypercar will be called ‘Destrier’, which means ‘Warhorse’ in English.
Bugatti hasn’t revealed much beyond a few official teasers, but if you have been following us, you would know that the new coachbuilt hypercar draws inspiration from some of the recent series production models.
In terms of design, the Bugatti Destrier is expected to be a cross between the Bolide track hypercar and the brand’s latest model, the Tourbillon. We might see specific features like the X-shaped headlamps and the X-wing-like taillights from the Bolide and the Tourbillon’s wide horseshoe grille being integrated into the final design.
The Bugatti Destrier will be based on the Chiron platform, just like the previous Solitaire models – Brouillard and FKP Hommage. It will be powered by the familiar 8.0-liter W16 quad-turbocharged engine with 1600 hp.
