The German brand’s new CEO, Michael Leiters, has confirmed that the electric Porsche 718 Boxster and Cayman are still very much in development, even if timelines have shifted.
“With the electric 718, we came to the conclusion that we will build the model – because it is the best solution economically and will be a fantastic car,” Leiters said.

Details remain scarce. Porsche has yet to reveal anything concrete about power figures, range, or technical specifications. However, there are a few hints about what the electric Porsche 718 models would look like.
Lightly camouflaged prototypes have been spotted testing on public roads and at the Nurburgring. From what is known, Porsche is sticking closely to the design of the ICE models. The cars retain their compact footprint, low-slung stance, and proportions.
