The Hennessey Blackbird is the latest hypercar from the Texas-based Hennessey Performance. The name, as you may have guessed, is inspired by the legendary SR-71 Blackbird aircraft. Only 71 examples will be built.

Unlike Hennessey’s earlier products, the Venom GT and Venom F5, which were powered by twin-turbo V8 engines, the Blackbird uses a 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8. It was developed specially for this car by Ilmor Engineering. The company claims that it delivers around 800-850 hp. More importantly, power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission.

The Hennessey Blackbird looks quite unique with its sculpted exterior. It has a low scuttle, flared fenders and brand-new quad-projector LED headlights. It has single semi-circular LED taillights and a central exhaust featuring four pipes in a diamond configuration.

Inside, the hypercar has a sporty flat-bottom steering wheel with a triple-pod instrument binnacle. The two-tone interior wraps around the occupants, giving them a cockpit-like feel.
