4-door Ford Mustang price could start from $40K; prototype shown to dealers

A physical prototype of what’s believed to be the 4-door Ford Mustang Mach 4 has reportedly been shown to dealers at a private event in Las Vegas, giving insiders a closer look at the brand’s upcoming car.

Those in attendance compared its size and overall stance to the Porsche Panamera, suggesting a sleek, performance-focused sedan rather than a stretched coupe. It’s a significant step forward from the early renderings shown back in 2024, and a clear signal that Ford is serious about expanding the Mustang lineup.

Executives hinted at a sub-four-second 0–60 mph time. At the same time, practicality gets a boost, with rear-seat space reportedly exceeding that of a Panamera.

Perhaps the biggest surprise is pricing. The Mach 4 could start under $40,000, potentially making it one of the most accessible high-performance four-door cars on the market.

While Ford hasn’t confirmed an official debut date, production is said to be targeted between 2028 and 2029. For now, it remains under wraps—but the idea of a four-door Mustang is clearly gaining real traction.
