BMW has announced the prices for the new-generation X5 for Australia. The fifth-generation luxury SUV is set to arrive here in the fourth quarter of 2026.

The range will initially include two variants. The diesel-powered X5 40d xDrive will cost $143,900 before on-road costs, while the petrol X5 40 xDrive is priced at $145,900.

The new X5 brings BMW’s latest Neue Klasse design language to its large SUV. The exterior has a more upright, monolithic appearance, with taller and narrower kidney grilles giving the front end a noticeably different look.

Inside, BMW’s Panoramic Vision display stretches across the dashboard at the base of the windscreen, while a larger central touchscreen handles infotainment. Standard equipment also includes ventilated and massaging front seats and a heated steering wheel.

Both launch variants use 3.0-litre inline-six engines paired with 48V mild-hybrid systems and an eight-speed automatic transmission. The 40d produces 230 kW (308 hp) and 670 Nm (494 lb ft), while the petrol 40 xDrive develops 294 kW (395 hp) and 540 Nm (around 400 lb ft).

Australian deliveries are expected between October and December 2026.
