2018 Geneva Motor Show: Koenigsegg Brings Two Regeras and a CCX to the Stage
At this year’s Geneva Motor Show, the Swedish hypercar manufacturer presents two customer build Regeras and a 2006 CCX.
The first of the two Regeras sports a crystal white lacquer with black and orange details and is fitted with Koenigsegg’s ‘Ghost’ package, a series of aerodynamic enhancements including a deep front spoiler and rear winglets that lend the car a more aggressive presence and provide additional downforce. The interior is orange and black with polished carbon fiber accents, contrast stitching and polished aluminium center column.
The other car, the aptly named Regera d’Elegance is finished in Swedish Blue with blue-tint carbon fiber and Ocean Green striping. The same combination of color can be seen inside with a Swedish Blue and Ocean Green interior handcrafted from the finest Scandinavian material. What is common among both the Regeras are Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires fitted with Koenigsegg’s ‘Tresex’ carbon fibre wheels. These are claimed to be the world’s lightest and strongest production wheels.
A story about the Regera won’t be complete without mentioning its unique Direct Drive powertrain – a 1500 hp transmission less combination of Koenigsegg’s renowned twin-turbo V8 engine and a Formula 1 grade battery pack which helps the car rocket from 0 to 400 km/h (248 mph) in less than 20 seconds. Further, it accelerates from 150 km/h (93 mph) to 250 km/h (155 mph) in just 3.2 seconds.

Even with all its crazy numbers, the Regera is Koenigsegg’s idea of a luxury hypercar and comes with a slew of comfort and convenience features including a removable, stowable roof, full-control climate system, Apple CarPlay, dual wireless mobile phone charging pockets, concert-quality audio system, electrically adjustable heated seats, heated front screen, birds-eye view parking assist with 4 cameras, adjustable ride-height control, the popular ‘AutoSkin’ touch-free opening and closing of doors and hoods feature, OTA software updates and much more.
Also on display at the Koenigsegg stand is a CCX, a part of its “Certified Legends” refurbished car program. This rare right hand drive 2006 CCX features a 4.7-liter, twin-supercharged V8, producing 806 hp and a 6-speed manual gearbox. The exterior has been freshly painted in its original Koenigsegg Royal Blue. However, the original interior was removed and replaced with a very Swedish aniline vegetable tanned leather.
For those that aren’t aware must be reminded that Koenigsegg is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. We wish the company another successful year of records. Here’s to another record breaking 25 years.
