1500 hp Chinese Denza Z EV spotted at Nurburgring; new lap record coming?

2 Min Read

Denza Z, a Chinese electric supercar, has been spotted at the Nurburgring. The EV has been caught on camera doing the rounds of the Green Hell. Considering that it packs over 1500 hp, we wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up setting a new lap record.

The Denza Z spied is wearing heavy camouflage. But we can see its aerodynamically designed bodywork. It features various aero bits on the front bumper and on the hood above the front wheel arches. Then there is the massive rear wing. And to bring the car to a controlled stop, huge discs have been provided.

Last month, specs of the Denza Z electric roadster came to light via Chinese regulatory filings. It has a tri-motor setup – two at the rear and one up front – delivering a combined 1582 hp. It can do 0-62 mph in under 2.0 seconds, and has a top speed of 217 mph. While the model captured at the Nurburgring isn’t the roadster, it is likely to have similar specs.

In related news, Xiaomi has really pulled off a groundbreaking feat. Its YU7 GT completed the world’s first fully autonomous lap of the Nurburgring Nordschleife.
