Nissan GTR Godzilla: Old vs New

Nissan GTR Old vs New

There are a lot of videos on the internet featuring the old R34 Nissan GTR Skyline and the latest R35 model. The reason being the sheer popularity of the ‘Godzilla’. Guys at Car Throttle managed to get hold of a very rare R34 GTR in stock condition and a brand new R35 and shot this wonderful video on a private test track.

Unlike the new model, the R34 is an analogue sports car. It has all wheel drive but instead of a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic, it uses an old-fashioned manual. With almost half the horsepower of the R35 Nissan GTR, it isn’t as quick. Neither does handle the corners as well as its modern counterpart. However, the R34 is lighter and more involving to drive. The 280 hp seems quite sufficient to put a smile on your face, as reported by driver.

Having said that, the R35 is completely in a different league. It is the most value for money supercar available in the market today and among the best as well. Powered by a twin-turbo V6, the GTR is a favorite among the tuner community. The rather puny looking V6 can be boosted up to 1000 hp and beyond and with the highly sophisticated all-wheel drive system and launch control, the GTR blitzes past the quarter mile.
