You can now buy a 800 HP Cobra with an 88 lb. carbon fibre body

Shelby has announced a new limited edition Cobra for the company’s 60th Anniversary. Shelby has limited this  exclusive Cobra Diamond Edition to just 10 units and each car will get a unique carbon fibre body that weighs just 88 pounds. Yes, that’s not a typo.

Shelby Cobra Diamond Edition : More Details

Shelby has co-developed this car along with Classic Recreations. If you might recall, the Classic Recreations are the same guys that came out with the fully carbon fibre GT500CR Mustang back in 2021.

The 88 pound body includes front and rear clips, doors along with the floor. The engine bay is spacious and can accommodate a Gen 3 Coyote V8 from Ford Performance. The designers have also left space for a T56 six-speed manual gearbox.

To push this car to 800 HP, buyers must also get the optional VMP Supercharger kit. The engineers have also upgraded the brakes on the 800 HP Cobra. The car now gets its stopping power from six-piston Wilwood brakes at both the front and rear.

A select group of designers and technicians at Classic Recreations will hand assemble the Shelby Cobra Diamond Edition. This car will also get a unique serial number starting from CSX4521 to CSX4530 from Shelby Licensing.

Pricing of the Shelby Cobra Diamond Edition

The Diamond Edition would set back potential owners for a call US$ 1.2 million. This price is before the various options. However, given the limited run and the uniqueness of the car, we expect these cars to be sold out in no time and owners would be lucky enough to own this rare car.
