It has been almost 8 years since the Saleen S1 made its debut at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show. Finally, in 2026, Saleen Automotive has opened pre-bookings for its new mid-engined sports car. Prices start at $160,000.
The Saleen S1 is based on an aluminium chassis wrapped in a carbon fibre body, weighing 2,685 lbs. The 2-door coupe features a low and wide front nose and an integrated spoiler at the back. It has a hood scoop and additional intakes on the rear fenders.
Powering the S1 is a Saleen-designed 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder engine that produces 450 hp and 425 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a paddle-shifter automatic. Saleen claims a 0-60 mph time of 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 171 mph.

The S1 comes equipped with independent wishbone suspension and rides on 20-inch rims wrapped in 255/30/ZR20 front and 335/25/ZR20 rear Continental Tires.
The Saleen S1 will be built at the company’s Corona facility in California, with 1,500 units planned for the first year. There’s no confirmation yet as to when the first customer cars will be delivered.
